Message I read recently said as far as acceleration goes, add one and a half times the weight of a wheel to the car. So, if you go from a 10lb wheel to a 20lb wheel (adding 10lb), then the difference is as if you had added 15lb to the weight of the car (and then x 4 for all the wheels). So, in that respect it is not a huge amount. There are also handling advantages due to less unsprung mass, but not sure if the average driver would notice any difference.
